Since 1999 Angela has been
creating and performing
original puppet theatre. She is
currently working as a
freelance puppeteer, puppet
constructor, director/devisor
and teacher. Angela continues
to work with the Puppet
Project, which is currently
devising a new work
Possession.

Angela is working as a puppet
performer and designer with
Peep Show inc; on the
Creative Development of One;
and the successful creative
development of Slanting into
the Void.

Angela has been working with
Shop Front Theatre as a
puppetry teacher, consultant,
director and designer on the
shows, How Sachi Lost his
Leg
, Wadya call me and
Shimmerer. She is currently
teaching Creatures in the
Workshop
.

In 2004 Angela began working
for Erth Visual and Physical
Theatre, creating and
performing a stand of
Australian native stilt trees for
the Moomba Festival. She
developed the "Heads of
State" for old parliament
house with this exciting
theatre company. In 2005 she
will be part of the Gondwana
Creative development.

In 2003 Angela was one of ten
young Australians selected for
the 2003 Australia Council for
the arts mentorship Program.
She successfully applied for a
Project Partnership to
collaborate with mentor (Steve
Howarth, Erth) on the design,
construction and
mechanisation of the puppets
for the short film Bind.


In 2003 Angela worked on the
Al-Hakawati project as a
puppetry and performance
leader. This was a Council of
Australian Palestinians
initiative for community and
cultural development.

During 2003 Angela was the
UNSW Union artist in resident
at the University of New South
Wales. She held workshops,
open studio working and
completed a successful
exhibition.

The Puppet Project was
formed in 2002 as the
Australian sister-company to
the Canadian Puppet Project /
Projet: Marionette. Their First
production, Stone Soup,
premièred at PACT Youth
Theatre 2002 and enjoyed a
second season in April 2003.
The Puppet Project will launch
their first short puppet film
Bind in April 2005. They are
currently devising the script
for Possession.

Angela started her puppetry
career when she co-founded
the Montreal theatre company
Puppet Project / Projet:
Marionette, in 1999. With this
inspired group of young artists
she devised and performed
two full-length puppet plays,
Minnows Moon, 1999, and
The Memory Tree, 2001. In
2002, The Memory Tree
toured five cities across North
America. The Puppet Project /
Projet: Marionette received the
2001 Force Avenir Award for
new work in the arts.

Angela has worked as a
volunteer Puppet builder,
consultant, director, teacher
and/or performer with Clare
Grant, NUTS, NEXUS,
Opencity, Short'n'Sharp, and
other groups to collaborate on
existing projects and gain
valuable and diverse puppetry
experiences.
